Super Bowl XL
Super Bowl XL...every time I saw it written on the screen or saw the logo, the first thing that popped into my head was Super Bowl Extra-Large, so that's what I'm going to call it this year.

My thoughts on the Extra Large Super Bowl...

The Good: Uhhh...I dunno if there really was anything all that good. I liked both teams, had for many years, so I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed with the outcome of the game. I suppose I'm happy the Steelers won, only because they've been one of the 2 favourite teams of my father (the other teams makes me gag at the mention of their name).

I guess I was cheering for The Bus (Jerome Bettis), only because I know he's worn the goat horns for many years. Now he's a champ and gets to drive off into the sunset of retirement on top of the football world.

I also enjoyed Mick and the boys during halftime. They may be old and dated, but they're still entertaining, to me anyway.

The Bad: I thought the broadcast of Madden and Michaels was only average, not that anyone really cared, but at least they weren't full of unnecessary chatter, but it was still dull.

The Canadian commercials also sucked. I can't tell you how many times I cursed having to see the same crappy commercials over and over. The giant dog wasn't funny the first time, nor was it after the 15th time it ran during the game.
Same goes for all the lame-assed Global programming commercials.
No US commercials for us, as usual, so no entertaining broadcast at all.

The Ugly: I knew the anthem was going to be rough, and sure enough, it was like laying down on a bed of nails. Gah.
Thankfully, they only had to sing one anthem.

The stuff before the introductions was also unwatchable.
I think theme for choosing this year's performers was "if you're under 65, you need not apply".

I don't really want to criticize the actual game, but it really wasn't all that exciting. The teams hardly threatened to score much and watching 50 yard field goal attempts when you're down by a lot isn't enough to crank up the excitement level, especially when you shank them each time.

Overall: I give this year's Extra Large Super Bowl a 5 out of 10. I got no buzz out of it before kickoff and no buzz about it after the final gun.
I only hope next year's game includes one team I hate, so I could put all my enthusiasm behind the other team.

Now, I'm off to score my own touchdown. And who knows, maybe I'll go for the two point convert!

That sounds like a Bryan Adams song...please forgive me. Man, that show I went to in December rocked!

And hey, I mainly wonder at them rockers because I think they're older than dirt!

lol, awww, poor baby :P

And maybe next year?
Believe it or not, but I pulled out my old Seahawks jersey I wore back in middle school, just to prove to everyone I actually liked Seattle for many years, not just because they did well this year, lol

i only watched 5 mins i am tired of the hype with it being right in my back yard

i however thought the anthem would have been better seeing as it was aretha franklin and aaron neville though i understand they are both aging(last time i heard aretha she sounded kinda rough.. and she looks like ass)

Aaron could hardly be heard.
I guess I sorta frown on things like the way the anthem was sung, only because I'm so use to hearing it done one way, straight through, rather than the way they put their spins on it, extending it to twice as long.

And you're right, hearing it live probably would have made it sound better.
